Suren’s Journey

The experiences and lessons behind a life of growth.

01

Where It All Began

Born into a humble family in Chennai, he grew up dreaming of studying at IIT Madras. But life took a different turn. When he was in sixth grade, his father suffered a paralytic stroke and could no longer work. His mother borrowed money to keep the family going.

At 18, during his final year of a three-year diploma, he lost his father after a prolonged illness. He didn’t break down when he saw his father’s body. But when he looked at his mother, he did. She was just 37, left to carry the family and ₹24 lakhs of debt. That day, he made himself a promise: he would do whatever it took to change her life.

The Turning Point

His first job was at HCL in Delhi, where he earned ₹3,400 a month. With ₹24 lakhs of debt at home, he knew his salary alone wouldn’t change things. He started trying side hustles, hoping to find another way forward.

After two business failures, at the lowest point of his life he walked into a Brian Tracy seminar. He went in looking for answers about success and business. What he found was something deeper. For the first time, he began looking at his own choices differently. That day became a turning point in how he saw his life.

Once he succeeded, he wanted to bring Brain Tracy to India so his closest ones could get the same transformations he experienced.

Bringing World’s Best Coaches to India

Years later, the promise was kept! In 2012, Brian Tracy came to Chennai for the first Success Gyan program. One program led to another. Soon, Success Gyan was bringing some of the world’s best coaches to India every 90 days.

The rooms were packed, and the mission kept growing. But the goal was bigger than filling rooms. They wanted to make world-class learning accessible to many more people.

Breaking The Status Quo

He wanted premium education to reach people across India, not just a select few. So, he brought 10 of the world’s best coaches to India and challenged the way personal growth education was delivered. He broke entry barriers, bringing ticket prices down to just ₹1,000.

The rooms were packed. But what stayed with us was seeing so many people show up, ready to learn and build better lives for themselves. That was what made it worth it. He had made world-class coaching more affordable to Indians. But that was just the beginning.

Stepping into IIT

Around the same time, he co-authored Success Recipe with Brian Tracy. At the book’s launch, his mother sat in the front row. Years ago, he had promised her that one day, he would give her a life like a queen. For him, this was more than a proud moment. It was a promise, coming true.

Then, something extraordinary happened. IIT Madras invited him as a keynote speaker. The place he had once dreamed of studying at was now welcoming him to inspire others. He finally walked through those gates, not as a student, but as a guest.

Life had come full circle. The dream had taken a different shape, but the journey had brought him back to where it all began.

Making India Rise

By 2016, Success Gyan had brought over 80 of the world’s leading coaches to India. He saw how the West had built a thriving industry around personal growth principles, many of which had roots in Indian wisdom. He then set himself a bigger mission: Help Indian trainers and coaches to become truly world class and make India the coaching capital of the world.

Giving Back Through Education

He had always dreamed of studying, but never got the opportunity. He knew what it felt like to have a dream left unfulfilled, and he didn't want any kid to go through the same. In 2019, Success Gyan adopted Maatram Foundation and began covering its operational costs, helping students continue their education without the burden of fees.

Today, 4858 underprivileged students are pursuing their graduation completely free of cost. Every student who gets to continue studying represents something personal to Suren. Because he believes that educating one child doesn’t just change one life. It can change the future of generations to come.

Global Reach

In 2019, Success Gyan had organized over 150 live programs across the major cities of India. But the bigger intention was to make personal growth education reach every household across the country.

Success Gyan had already envisioned taking its programs online. When COVID hit and the world went indoors, the shift became even more important. Success Gyan’s programs positively impacted people from 100+ cities across the world.

What started in seminar halls could now reach homes across the country and beyond. Through its online programs and live learning experiences, Success Gyan has gone on to transform 2 million lives.

Onwards and Upwards

Today, nearly 90% of Success Gyan’s programs happen online, while the remaining 10% are curated live experiences. But he dreams of taking the power of in-person transformation to every corner of India.

He envisions Success Gyan’s Transformation Studios in 100+ cities and towns across the country. Physical spaces where people can come together, experience deep transformation, challenge their limits and discover what they are truly capable of.
